Suggestions

  • If you are diabetic, ALWAYS wear some kind of identification like a bracelet or necklace.

  • Always have something sweet with you, in case of a hypoglycemia.

  • Check your blood sugar.

  • Check your blood pressure.

  • Have frequent eye, kidney and feet tests.

  • Have a blood test, at least once a year to check your cholesterol level.  

As a reference, the normal values of cholesterol and other lipids are:

 

Cholesterol: 200 or less

LDL (bad cholesterol): 100 or less

HDL (good cholesterol): 45 or more

Triglycerides: 200 or less
