Saber es Querer (To Know Is To Love) was an awareness campaign aimed at promoting the care and risks of diabetes.  We intended to spread the word among diabetics, their families, friends, co-workers and neighbors; so that we all understand and learn while we support the people living with this disease.

In this website you will find information that will allow you to understand and learn about diabetes.

Saber es Querer, in association with the Foundation Asociación Para La Defensa Del Diabético worked to make a difference and to help improve the quality of life of the people of Argentina.

Musicians, actors, sports people and other personalities from Argentina have helped in this initiative to promote the education and improve the quality of life of all diabetics.

The launch of Saber Es Querer was on Sunday, November 14, 2004, on the International Diabetes Day, with the Festival "Hagamos Ruido Por La Diabetes" (Lets Make Noise For Diabetes) at Obras Sanitarias Stadium in the City of Buenos Aires, with a Rock & Roll festival that started this one-week campaign and contributed to the promotion and education of diabetes in Argentina.

During the week following the opening event, and with the cooperation of a number of people in the press, private companies and individuals; we spread our educational message and we are pleased to have made some noise among our people.

Finally, on Saturday November 20th, we closed the campaign with a tango show at Los Patios de San Telmo with the performance of Claudia Levy and Alejandro Perez.

We are immensely thankful for the support and affection we have received from everyone. THANK YOU ALL and we'll keep rolling! Watch out!

In Argentina, more than 2 million people have diabetes, representing 8% of the population.

Half of them don't even know they have it, while half of those diagnosed don't receive proper treatment.

With the right information, people with diabetes can live a long, healthy, complication-free and normal life.
